USA, Long Beach: California State University Long Beach

California State University Long Beach (CSULB) or "The Beach" (as it is known to locals) is located in the sunny harbour city of Long Beach in the southern catchment area of Los Angeles. The city has around 450,000 inhabitants; the cost of living is comparatively high by big city standards.

With around 33,000 students, CSULB is one of our larger partner universities. It regularly has good rankings and is very popular with many students.

CSULB has a reputation as a "commuter university", with many students living in the surrounding area and relatively few students living directly on campus. Exchange students make contact primarily with other international students.

CSULB is particularly popular with Oldenburg students from Economics, Computing Science, Engineering Physics and Art. However, only economics courses and no business courses can be taken in the economics department. Admission to physical education courses is limited. Courses can be taken at Bachelor's level.

Participation in the "Study abroad @ the Beach" programme is possible via the Auslands-BAföG.

CSULB must-dos on campus
