University of Wyoming Factsheet 2026/27
USA, Laramie: University of Wyoming
The University of Wyoming is slightly larger than the University of Oldenburg and is located between the small town of Laramie (population around 30,000) and the Snowy Range Mountains (part of the Rocky Mountains) at an altitude of around 2,200 metres. Accordingly, it can get very cold in winter, sometimes down to -26°C. However, this also means that there are good opportunities to practise various winter sports.
The university has very good rankings and offers a varied leisure programme. Many exchange students go to Wyoming to study business and economics, but students of engineering, sustainability research and environmental sciences (Energy & Resources) also find exciting courses. Students of languages, natural sciences, music and religion also go to the University of Wyoming. Both Bachelor's and Master's students from the University of Oldenburg are welcome here.
A grade point average of at least 2.3 is required for an exchange place at the University of Wyoming.
