St. Cloud State University (SCSU for short) is located in the centre of the US state of Minnesota, the "Land of 10,000 Lakes". St. Cloud, with a population of around 69,000, gets its idyllic location from the Mississippi River, which flows directly through the city and alongside the university. The twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are located 100 km south-east of St. Cloud. In the ranking of states with the best quality of life in the USA, Minnesota is ranked 5th out of 50 (U.S. News & World Report, 2023).

SCSU has 13,000 students studying a wide range of subjects. With an average of 23 students per course, there is good support from the teaching staff. Students at the University of Oldenburg can choose both Bachelor's and Master's courses at SCSU.
