The subject of general studies is studied as part of the teacher training programme for primary and special schools at the University of Oldenburg through the foundational Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary General Studies and the Master of Education in General Studies.

The centre of this degree programme is the reflective selection of content and its didactic preparation, its methodological presentation, as well as diagnostic skills in early intervention and teaching and learning grounded in learning theory. The close integration of research relevant to General Studies, university teaching and school practice is an integral part of the General Studies subject at the University of Oldenburg.
