Research into the didactics of general studies and the development of teaching and further education has a long tradition at the University of Oldenburg. The General Studies Research Group, formerly headed by Prof. Dr Astrid Kaiser, has been actively involved in research, teaching and further education since 1993, contributing to the development of the subject of Interdisciplinary General Studies.
