Welcome to the excursions in science lessons

Do you still need an excursion ticket?

Are you on the Bachelor's degree programme in Interdisciplinary Subject Education and still need a certificate? Then you've come to the right place! On this page you will find all the important information on registration, participation requirements and crediting of excursions in the module isb052. Discover current excursion offers and take the opportunity to supplement your studies with practical experience!

Planned excursions for the summer semester

Wadden Sea Centre, Wilhelmshaven: Visit to the exhibition and South Beach Safari

Key details at a glance:

  • Venue: Südstrand 110B, 26382 Wilhelmshaven ( please make your own way there)
  • Date: Thursday , 25 June 2026
  • Preparation time: approx. 2 hours (asynchronous, not on-site)
  • Time for the on-site excursion: 12 :00 – approx. 16:30 at the Wadden Sea Centre ( ) in Wilhelmshaven
  • Meeting point: in front of the main entrance
  • What to bring: weather-appropriate clothing and equipment (e.g. sun cream, head protection or rain trousers and a rain jacket) and, if possible, wellington boots (visiting the mudflats is only permitted with shoes on, not barefoot!) as well as a packed lunch
  • Cost: free (funded by SQM)

Important information:

  • The on-site excursion runs from 12.00 to 16.30.
  • Please make sure you bring wellington boots! If you do not have any, you can hire a pair on site (fee: €0.50). Please let me know if you need to hire wellington boots at least 2 days before the field trip, stating your shoe size (Etherpad).

Park der Gärten in Bad Zwischenahn

Conditions of participation and crediting in the Bachelor's programme

  • Registrations for the field trips in subject teaching are reserved for subject teaching students.
  • As a rule, subject teaching students complete 2 excursions in the course of their Bachelor's degree programme.
  • All excursion offers listed here are credited with one excursion day each for the module isb052.

Organisational information on excursion registration, participation and crediting

  • Registrations for the excursions now take place via excursion events in Stud.IP.
  • The following applies to registration for excursions: Places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received.
  • You will receive further information about the event shortly before the excursion.
  • As long as the registration period for the respective course is open, free places can be filled.
  • Shortly before the excursion, you will be transferred to the respective isbexk course of the semester. Please stay in this course, as the excursions are credited via this course.
  • To receive credit for an excursion ...
    • the student has a place in the corresponding excursion course and
    • has taken part in the excursion and
    • has uploaded the excursion reflection within 2 weeks of the excursion.
  • The excursion is credited digitally via the isbex seminar in the Gradebook. There are no more field trip certificates.
  • If the excursions have been successfully completed and all seminar work has been completed, the module isb52 will be credited.

Seminar assignment (isbexk) & reflection materials

How do I take part in the isbexk seminar?

  • If you take part in an excursion, you will be automatically assigned to this seminar by the lecturer. You will be invited to the seminar shortly before the excursion.

Where can I find the excursion materials to prepare for and follow up on the excursion?

  • In order to successfully prepare for and follow up on the excursion, we recommend that you work through the courseware unit in this seminar. There you will also receive further information on excursions for your further work as a teacher.
  • You can download the excursion reflection material on the first page of the courseware.

Courseware in the isbexk seminar: Overview of the self-study modules

In this seminar, you will receive all the field trip reflection sheets (before, during, after) that you need on the first page of the courseware. Submit the reflection to the corresponding folder in the seminar by 2 weeks after the excursion.

The isbex course offers the opportunity to find out about extracurricular places of learning digitally within various self-study modules.

Excursion to the Esterwegen Concentration Camp Memorial – fully booked

  • Saturday, 21 June 2025, 10.00–16.00
  • Study group:‘Esterwegen Memorial’; there are still a few places left for students of general studies
  • We will first receive an introduction to the exhibition, the site and the historical context, and then, in small groups, consider how and where we might approach the site from a philosophical perspective. We will then bring these ideas together and reflect on them at the end. Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements. Admission fees will be covered.

Pandemic: Exceptions & transitional arrangements

Some of you have taken and completed the module isb052 during the pandemic.

  • In these semesters, no excursions had to be taken to obtain the examination credit: winter semester 2019/20, summer semester 2020, winter semester 2020/21, summer semester 2021, winter semester 2021/22
  • An excursion had to be taken in these semesters: SoSe22 - if this regulation applies to you and you have fulfilled all the requirements, but no grade has been entered, please contact me (seminars, excursions, please indicate the respective semester).
  • From winter semester 2022/23, two excursions must be completed again.
