- Start: 9 am (s.t.)
- End: approx. 11 am
- Location: Schlaues Haus
- Registration at
Speaker: Senior physician Sebastian Jongen, KJK
"Young people face many special developmental tasks and questions as they grow up: Who am I? How do I want to be? How do I want to be perceived? Engaging with peers and other caregivers is an important building block in this process and social media has established itself as a place of exchange with almost unlimited opportunities to express and contribute. As impressive and diverse as the journey through this world is, negative experiences with social networks and questionable content can cause immense damage in this vulnerable phase of life and favour the development of eating disorders." (Schlaues Haus homepage). Discussion: How are children of primary school age affected by this, who are also looking for recognition? What does this do to their body image, their self-esteem? How can school, how can science lessons react to this?"
