Project objectives

Development of optical 3D measurement techniques for the acquisition of dynamic fluid-structure interactions (FSI) in turbulent wind environments in the wind tunnel. This shall make it possible to investigate aeroelastic phenomena on a scaled model wind turbine in wind tunnel tests.

 

Specific contributions and objectives WESys

Development of flexible rotor blades for the existing MoWiTO 1.8 model wind turbine and experimental investigation of aerodynamic, aeroelastic and aero-servo-elastic phenomena in controlled and repeatable turbulent flow in the wind tunnel.
