Rough course of an appointment procedure
- One: Release of professorship
- Two: BK
- Three: Approval of list
- 4: University Senate, Presidential Board
- 5: Appointment hearing
- 6: Acceptance or rejection of appointment
- 7: Appointment of the person
- The process can take about a year, the part concerning the student body about half a year.

- Once a person has been selected, they receive a so-called appointment at the university

Composition of the BK
- Composition depends on the size of the professorship
- 4-7 professors and often also 1-2 external members
- A committee includes student representatives, academic staff and other employees (administration)
