Networking non-formal STEM education programmes regionally and individually
AHOI_MINT opens up non-formal STEM education programmes in the region to a broad user group of school classes or groups of children/young people. The regional programmes are presented on the project website in a target group-oriented and thematically grouped manner: www.ahoi-mint.de.
AHOI_MINT pursues the following goals:
- STEM programmes become more visible, bookable and accessible for 10-16 year olds. This also includes the programmes offered by the physiXS school laboratory. The working group analyses the offers in the region for regional, thematic or methodological 'white spots'.
- The regional offers are networked so that children and young people can access individual learning paths. To this end, the working group develops concepts for complementary networking and works together with the learning centres to develop concrete networks of learning opportunities.
- New programmes are also being developed. To this end, physics teaching students are working with regional companies to develop STEM programmes, e.g. on robotics. Existing programmes are being improved as part of development research.
- The network of programmes becomes a network for providers. The working group organises training courses that include mutual observation, systematic reflection and further development of STEM offerings.
The Smart House Oldenburg, the Landesmuseum Natur und Mensch, the OFFIS computer science institute and the XperimenT! student research centre are among the leading partners in the network. AHOI_MINT includes around 70 extracurricular and school education partners as well as companies and associations.
