The Board of Directors comprises four people who belong to the group of university lecturers. The members of the Board of Directors determine responsibilities for the DiZ's fields of activity in consultation with the Presidential Board and appoint a director from among their number.

The Board of Directors manages the DiZ, i.e. it defines guidelines for the performance of tasks and further development of the centre. The DiZ Director chairs the Board of Directors, represents the DiZ within the University and externally within the scope of the authorisations delegated by the Presidential Board or the President and sets the guidelines for the Board of Directors. He or she is responsible for day-to-day business in co-operation with the management.

The Board of Directors was elected by the Commission for Teacher Education (KLB) on 2 April 2025 and has been in office since 1 April 2025.
