Integration and working methods of the DiZ
The DiZ forms the supporting cross-faculty structure of teacher training at the University of Oldenburg. At the interface between the university management and the Schools, it performs organisational and technical-conceptual tasks in research, teaching, studies and the professional field of teacher training. As a scientific centre, the DiZ makes a significant contribution to the strategic development and positioning of teacher training in higher education policy issues. It initiates and supports overarching development processes in coordination with university management and the School.
Through its members, the DiZ pools the competences and expertise in teacher training at the University of Oldenburg. It networks those involved in teacher training across subjects and Schools and promotes coordination and cooperation between didactics, specialised subjects and educational sciences. It is the central place where relevant information on teacher training is collected, processed and made available in a systematised form. The DiZ comments on examination, study and admissions regulations for degree programmes relevant to teacher training as well as the introduction, amendment and abolition of these, supports the joint development of university-wide strategies as well as the identification and processing of concrete measures on central topics of teacher training. In addition, the DiZ can be involved in appointment procedures relevant to teacher training.
The DiZ office ensures the functionality of the DiZ in all fields of action through the fulfilment of its tasks. All members and affiliates of the DiZ are responsible for achieving the objectives by cooperating and working together according to function and expertise.
As a scientific centre, the DiZ bundles the research perspectives of the scientists represented in it with the aim of initiating and profiling teacher education-related research and forming research networks.
