According to the Centre's regulations, all members and affiliates of the University of Oldenburg can become members of the Centre for Teacher Education - Didactic Centre (DiZ) in a secondary membership if their work in School I to V is primarily concerned with teacher education.

Importance of your membership of the DiZ

• Members of the DiZ are usually invited to the Centre Assembly once a year. This serves to provide regular information and a broad exchange within the centre. There is no obligation to attend the centre meeting.
• Members receive the Centre's information service (biannual newsletter, information on cross-faculty, teaching-related research initiatives, announcements of conferences and calls for proposals) and can also use the Centre's office network of regional schools and teachers.

Data collection for membership

We require the following data for your membership: Title, first name, surname, status, gender, email address and your university institution, e.g. School, Institute and working group. This data is managed by the DiZ office in accordance with data protection regulations.

Joining as a DiZ member

There are various ways to become a DiZ member:

• Individuals apply for membership.
  • University employees use the link above with the form to apply
  • Bachelor students please send an informal proposal by email to with the following data: Salutation, first name, surname, title, email address, status, School and Institute (Master of Education students are members of the Centre by virtue of their status).
  • The proposals are submitted to the KLB for approval.
• Persons are proposed as members by the Schools to the DiZ office.
  • Proposals for members across all status groups can be made via the faculty councils. The Schools are regularly requested by the DiZ office to submit nomination lists.
  • The proposals are submitted to the KLB for approval.
• Persons are members of the centre on the basis of their status or function.
  • All students of the Master of Education degree programmes are members of the DiZ as secondary members.
  • The Deans of Studies of School I to V are members of the DiZ by virtue of their office.
  • The members of the Executive Board responsible for research and teaching in teacher training are qua members of the DiZ.
  • The employees of the status groups academic staff and employees in technology and administration of the DiZ office are members or affiliates of the DiZ.
