International Conference „Anticipation and Medicine“
September 28 – 30, 2015
Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg, Delmenhorst
The conference is the third meeting within the Study Group “Anticipation across Disciplines” (http://www.h-w-k.de/en/study-groups/anticipation-across-disciplines.html), and like the two previous workshops in 2014, it will be organized by the HWK Honorary Fellow Prof. Dr. Mihai Nadin from the University of Texas at Dallas.
The living is characterized by goal-oriented, anticipatory behavior. Currently, there is a rapidly growing interest in understanding how anticipatory processes take place and what the practical implications might be. The conference “Anticipation and Medicine” will illuminate and discuss the implications of anticipation-based concepts on medical research and practice, engaging a set of about 25 speakers from the medical fields and related areas. In some fields within medicine, the anticipatory perspective has been adopted to a certain extent, and the action-reaction type of medicine is undergoing re-evaluation from the perspective of anticipation. The conference will cover the following themes: · Anticipation and the broad spectrum of neurological conditions · Evaluating the risk factors and opportunities of new medical procedures · Anticipation and medical care · Anticipation and psychological aspects of patient treatments · Anticipation and medical data processing · Anticipation and alternative medicine For more information on talks and confirmed speakers, please refer to the preliminary program on the internet page of the meeting: www.h-w-k.de/index.php The meeting has been accredited by the Aerztekammer Niedersachsen, and participants will receive 19 credit points (Fortbildungspunkte). Participation in the conference is free of charge, but registration is required. Please return the filled registration form (see attachment) by September 14, 2015 if you would like to participate.
