The first lecturer at the KinderUni, Prof Dr Dr Birger Kollmeier, has been awarded the 2012 German Future Prize by Federal President Joachim Gauck for his hearing research.

Prof Dr Christiane Richter-Landsberg was invited to give her KinderUni lecture "A journey through the brain" to 150 children in Cape Town, South Africa.

Especially for the KinderUni, professors went swimming and diving for film recordings, travelled by boat, walked through the mudflats and into rivers and ditches - and came up with games, wrote little scripts and also invented new experiments.
