Training the treatment of internal emergencies with VR glasses
Since the 2023 summer semester, we have been offering the opportunity to use virtual reality in medical education. Using VR headsets (Meta Quest 2) and the STEP.VR software, students can work through nine internal medicine emergency scenarios in a controlled environment under supervision, thereby practising clinical reasoning and diagnostic reasoning. Since autumn 2024, it has also been possible for several people to work together as a team in the same virtual consultation room at the same time.
Would you like to gain a brief insight into the possibilities of virtual reality at School VI? This short film was created in collaboration with media technology and university didactics as part of the Day of Teaching and Learning (TdLL) 2024.

Five VR headsets and three computers with the software are currently available. If you would like more information or would like to test the virtual emergency room, .
