Project objectives

The dynamic deformations of a rotorblade of a real windturbine in operation are to be recorded from the ground using stereophotogrammetry. By simultaneously measuring the incoming wind field by means of lidar and other load and operating data, the blade deformations will be compared with aeroelastic calculations. This opens up a unique opportunity to validate aeroelastic design codes for wind energy rotors using experimental data.
