Otto Peters
Distance Education in Transition - Developments and Issues (5th revised, extended and updated edition)
This new edition brings together the main themes of Otto Peters' work. Given the continued relevance of Peters' theory of "distance education as most industrialized form of education" it was at our special request that Peters included in this edition a comprehensive overview of this theory. Four new chapters (1-4) were added.
This edition also provides a more comprehensive structure by ordering the assembled papers in three parts according to the three great themes of Peters' work. Part I revisits and updates Peters' theory of "distance education as most industrialized form of education": Part II examines the "new learning spaces" opened up by the digital technologies; and Part III discusses "autonomous learning".
(To keep the book to a manageable size we had to take some of the previous chapters out. They are still available in the fourth edition below.)
