Henri Nannen, the founder of the Kunsthalle, spent much of his life as a journalist travelling in Russia. There he discovered artists who had previously been completely unknown in Germany. He visited them in their studios and took their paintings back to Emden. Even today, these works of art are still exciting and tell of people's lives. After the exciting tour of the museum, you can get creative yourself in the painting school's rooftop studio.
