The painter Alexej Jawlensky and his fellow artists thought very carefully about the colours they wanted to use in their paintings. In the museum, we explore why they did this and what you can do with the colours. Why, for example, did the Expressionists so often paint black borders around their shapes? How do you make your painting glow without using neon colours? You can try all this out for yourself with acrylic paints in the studio.
