Under the direction of Dr Silke Bakenhus, the project QuaSU - Quellenarbeit im Sachunterricht in co-operation with the international Prize Papers Project presented a hands-on station about letter communication 300 years ago. Three centuries ago, there were no mobile phones - but there were countless letters! How did people send their messages back then? And how did they ensure that a letter remained secret? The children were able to try out how to write with a bird's feather, fold letters skilfully and seal them with a real seal - and thus playfully discover how historical sources come to life.
This is an offer from the Oldenburg teaching and learning laboratory SULab.
