Creativity in General Studies
The KreaSach project (Creativityin General Studies) focuses on creativity in General Studies. In a constantly changing world with ever-new, unpredictable challenges, the ability to develop creative and innovative problem-solving strategies is a vital skill.
As a first step, the study examined what students training to teach General Studies understand by the term ‘creativity’, what importance they attach to creativity in General Studies, and how, in their view, pupils can utilise and (further) develop their creative potential in General Studies. The focus is therefore on the influence of creative thinking on learning and working in General Studies, and conversely, on the influence of learning in General Studies on the development of pupils’ creative potential.
The next step is to investigate creativity among (primary) school pupils. This project is being carried out in collaboration with Dr Ann-Kathrin Jaggy of the Hector Institute for Empirical Educational Research at the University of Tübingen.
Two further projects focus, on the one hand, on ways of fostering creativity and, on the other, on investigating the influence of creative potential on learning.

KreaSach Pro project
In a co-operation project with Prof. Dr Nadine Dittert of the Didactics of Computing Science at the University of Koblenz and PD. Dr Cornelia S. Große of the Linz School of Education Johannes Kepler University Linz (A), a learning setting for creative programming for primary school pupils is being developed and evaluated.
