"Discover Evenburg Castle" painting competition - the winners have been announced!

From 1 July to 31 August 2025, primary school children were invited to capture their ideas about Evenburg Castle in pictures. Numerous creative submissions were received - from imaginative views of the castle to detailed depictions of everyday life on site.

The five winners have now been announced: the prizes went to Hamburg, Borkum, Hanover, Bergheim and Winschoten in the Netherlands. All the children of primary school age made a valuable contribution with their artwork - thank you very much!

The submitted pictures are not only an expression of great creativity, but also an important part of ongoing research into how children see and imagine history.
