Recognitions and credits

Recognition means that higher education study and examination achievements are incorporated into the degree programme that were completed outside of the degree programme currently being studied. The recognised modules then no longer have to be completed.

Proposals are submitted to the Academic Examinations Office and processed there in practice. A learning agreement (e.g. as part of ERASMUS) does not replace this proposal. For applicants, the proposal will only be processed after enrolment has taken place (even if a corresponding number of credit points must be proven for enrolment if applying for a higher semester). Please enclose certificates (Transcript of Records) and, if applicable, the module descriptions (or links to them). An ERASMUS Learning Agreement is only important in problematic cases. The proposal can be submitted completely independently.

It is about modules, not individual courses. Recognition should be granted if there are no significant differences in the competences acquired (BPO §8 (2)). In other words, it is a question of comparable acquisition of competences, not exact equality of content.
