We had a barbecue together on 9 September 2025.
There were not only delicious sausages, salads and drinks, but above all plenty of room for dialogue. We also talked about our working conditions, the upcoming round of collective bargaining and what we can achieve together.

We were particularly pleased that so many colleagues from different areas of the university came. There were not only ver.di members, but also some who were simply curious or wanted to talk and have a barbecue together. The event was open to everyone and you could tell that.

What worked really well: Many people registered in advance via the website. This allowed us to plan very well in terms of barbecue food and drinks. In the end, there was hardly anything left over, which was great!

The atmosphere was relaxed and the conversations interesting. It was nice to see how people who otherwise rarely or never meet got to talk to each other, right across the university.

There was plenty to take away at our information table: Materials on the collective bargaining round, as well as information material and once again the popular red ver.di fighting ducks, vegan gummy bears and other small items such as buttons and magnets. We also ensured good visibility with ver.di flags, banners and posters.

The biggest highlight for us was how many people turned up. This shows that there is interest and that such actions are important to create community.

A big thank you goes to our colleagues who spontaneously took over the barbecue without an organisational mandate, just on instinct. And of course to everyone who helped out, joined in the discussions or simply joined in the eating.

We are very happy about the successful afternoon and are sure:
This was not the last time.
