"Taking part in the Honours Programme is something I consider a privilege, as it allows me to engage more deeply with research and interdisciplinary exchange. My main academic interest lies in sociology, with a particular focus on the sociology of sport, especially questions of social inequalities and qualitative social research.
Through the Honours Programme, I hope to further engage with socially relevant topics, discuss them critically with others, and contribute to making academic knowledge more accessible. I also appreciate the opportunity to take on responsibility in academic contexts and to continue developing within an interdisciplinary environment.
Meeting new people, building networks, and learning from different perspectives are also important aspects of the programme for me."

"The focus on two languages in my master’s degree in education has led me to be particularly interested in foreign language acquisition and language teaching. Due to the geographical proximity of the Dutch language, I find it particularly interesting as a target language.
My motivation to participate in the Honours Programme stems from my desire for lifelong learning and development. In the programme, I hope to gain new experiences in an interdisciplinary field and to be introduced to new perspectives, which will help my own approaches, methods, and ways of thinking become more diverse. I therefore hope that the interdisciplinary student network will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, ideas, and different points of view, while meeting new people. "

„Taking part in the Honours Programme is a great opportunity to support my transition from graduate studies to a PhD. My focus lies in German morphology, the study of inflection and word formation. I am particularly interested in the potential of bottom-up modelling concepts for linguistic research, such as agent-based modelling. Throughout the programme, I aim to improve my networking skills and exchange ideas with my fellow students for future projects.”

"I work at the Institute of Sports Science in the field of sports and movement science. My main interest lies in the combination of statistical analysis and sports performance, with a focus on perceptual-motor skills, especially the Quiet Eye (QE) phenomenon, and perception-action processes. I am particularly interested in understanding how perceptual and cognitive processes influence motor performance under varying circumstances.
Within the Honours Programme, I value the opportunity to exchange ideas with students from different academic backgrounds and to discuss scientific questions in an interdisciplinary setting. I also look forward to participating in workshops and events that support academic development and broaden my perspective on research and future career paths."

M.Sc. Chemistry
Betreuer
Prof. Dr. Thorsten Klüner (Working Group: Theoretical Chemistry)
„I am a theoretical chemist whose work focuses on the calculation of hyperfine coupling constants and the first-principles modeling of molecular spin qubits. Beyond my research, I am passionate about sparking public excitement for chemistry. Alongside teaching, I maintain a VR setup and AR trading cards that let people carry interactive molecules in their pockets, all designed to make chemistry accessible and to start conversations. Through the Honours Programme, I hope to further refine my science communication skills, particularly breaking down complex theories into clear language for broader audiences. Collaborating with students from diverse scientific backgrounds will challenge me to adapt my communication style and broaden my perspective on how specialized research is perceived across society.”

"I have always been fascinated by the human brain and its remarkable abilities. Hypnosis is one of them, and what draws me to it is its incredible range: it can be approached mechanically, clinically, and everything in between. I am currently conducting a randomised controlled trial on hypnosis for smoking cessation, and I also offer free hypnosis-based stress reduction sessions for students at the university.
I was nominated for the Honours Programme by Prof. Dr. Stefan Debener, and I see it as a wonderful opportunity to grow beyond psychology. The Programme will broaden my vision for my academic career, and having mentors with real experience means I can ask the questions that matter most.
During my bachelor's, I completed a minor in physics, and I hope to bring that background into interdisciplinary research together with my supervisors and fellow students. I also look forward to being part of a long-term community that welcomes new students over the years and keeps growing together."
