My favourite experience at the University of Oldenburg was ...
Well, maybe Willy Brandt's visit in 1988 on the occasion of the Ossietzky Days. There was a real glamour in our hut, followed by the naming after Carl von Ossietzky in 1991.
I also enjoyed the presentation of the book "Mehr Lust als Last" in May 2011, to which all the heads of our university - from Rainer Krüger to Heide Ahrens - contributed, and all of them wrote a dedication in my copy. I was delighted about that.
If I could work in a different area for a week, I would choose ...
the press office. I imagine it will be just as interesting as working in the Presidential Board, where the day sometimes holds surprises and flexibility is required.
My favourite place on campus is ...
the canteen forecourt when the sun is shining and the students are bustling around there at lunchtime. It has such a nice relaxed atmosphere, I even find the coffee cups placed everywhere decorative.
In the canteen I would like to have a chat with ...
to those who wrote the funniest comments about the day's canteen food on the roll of paper.
What I particularly appreciate about the University of Oldenburg ...
that there is good architecture at all locations and that both the Haarentor campus and the Wechloy campus are embedded in beautiful green surroundings.
At the University of Oldenburg I would improve ...
that the administration and Presidential Board are housed in one building on campus.
In ten years, the University of Oldenburg will be 50 years old. It will then be ...
successful in research and teaching, has been able to hold its own in competition with other universities and has a Nobel Prize winner in its ranks. The number of students has remained constant, perhaps even increased, and the graduates are well equipped for their future. At least that's how I would like it to be.
