Here you will find current information on events at the end of project.

IFE solar park for primary school pupils inaugurated

The IFE solar park was inaugurated on 9 July 2015 as a new energy site on the Northwest Energy Trail.

A solar park as an excursion location: this is made possible by an excursion concept developed by a student at the University of Oldenburg.

Sarah Hoffmeister developed the two-hour interactive programme "Charging your mobile phone with the sun" for the Oldenburg solar park operated by IFE Eriksen AG as part of her Master's thesis in the subject. The aim of the programme is to enable pupils to understand the path of energy from the sun to their mobile phones. As part of the excursion by class 4b from Achternmeer primary school, the solar park was officially recognised as an energy location in the "Energieparcours-Nordwest.de" programme on 9 July 2015.

From September 2015, the solar park can be visited regularly by primary school children.

Sprint petrol station in Oldenburg inaugurated as an energy hub

A petrol station as an excursion site and energy think tank: this is made possible by an excursion concept developed by two teacher training students at the University of Oldenburg. Sarah Masch and Dennis Polhout developed a 90-minute interactive programme for their master's thesis in physics didactics. It allows pupils to approach the topic of refuelling from different perspectives at the Sprint petrol station at Nadorster Straße 253. As part of the excursion of class 7b from Neues Gymnasium Oldenburg, the petrol station was officially recognised as an energy location in the "Energieparcours-Nordwest.de" on 24 February 2015.

"At Energieparcours-Nordwest, we focus on interactivity. The petrol station as an energy think tank should be seen in a new light as an everyday place of our energy consumption and inspire reflection," says Dr Verena Niesel from the Didactic Centre, describing what is special about the new excursion site. Together with Prof Dr Michael Komorek, she is supervising the students' work. Through the project at the Energy Think Tank, the students learn about the connections between fuel, driving behaviour and ecological consequences.

Interdisciplinary energy" study module in summer semester 2014

The study module was developed as part of the Energy Education project and is now taking place for the 4th time.

The professionalisation module "Interdisciplinary Energy" (6 CP, "Energy Education" certificate possible) offers students at the University of Oldenburg studying for a two-subject Bachelor's degree, Master of Education and subject students an overarching didactic and subject-specific view of the multidisciplinary topic of energy. The module is open to all subjects and aims to prepare topics of sustainable energy supply and use for school lessons from different subject perspectives.
The skills taught enable prospective teachers of all types of schools to get involved in energy-related topics at school and to discuss and reflect on scientific, ecological, technical, economic and ethical-social aspects of energy.
In addition to various didactic perspectives (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Economics, General Studies, Computing Science, Technology), the module also includes the integration of energy topics from the perspective of a local company. There is also the opportunity to go on an excursion to an exciting energy site in the region.
Keywords: renewable energies, energy exchange, energy price, energy experiments, climate protection, sustainability, post-growth economy, energy transition.

Registration for the event is via Stud-IP.

2011 Interdisciplinary teacher set meeting on the subject of "Wind" (03/03/2011)

As the culmination of the interdisciplinary work of the teacher sets in the Energy Education project, in which the practical experience of active teachers with the scientific approaches of doctoral candidates leads to new concepts and materials for teaching in the field of energy, the first completely interdisciplinary teacher set meeting took place on Thursday, 3 March 2011. In addition to the staff of the seven specialised didactics departments involved in the Energy Education project, around 30 active teachers took part.
