On 4 and 5 March 2010, Energieberufe LIVE! took place for the first time in the sports hall of the Bildungszentrum für Technik und Gestaltung Oldenburg.

More than 850 pupils were there and tried out the energy professions.

Question forum programme

At "Energy Professions LIVE", the pupils have the opportunity to...

• try out typical work processes at stations, e.g. from the vocational fields of IT, mechatronics, electronics, plant mechanics, metal construction, chimney sweep, industrial clerk
• solder, grind, file, programme, assemble, climb, advise... under the guidance of apprentices
• find out about training opportunities at vocational schools and further education academies
• ask young experts from the energy sector about their careers in the question forum
• find out about training professions using the display boards and the accompanying "Gallery of Future Professions" exhibition
• makeinitial personal contact with apprentices and trainers from various energy companies

Dear teachers,
"Energieberufe LIVE!" would like to show your pupils the regional training opportunities in the field of renewable energies. The north-west region is characterised by a unique concentration of companies operating in the sustainable energy industry. There are over 20,000 direct jobs in this sector and a large number of indirectly related jobs. The dynamic development in the offshore wind energy sector alone is expected to create up to 3,000 additional jobs in the medium term. "Energy Professions LIVE!" gives your pupils the chance to find out more and make their first academic appointments in this industry of the future.

The event "Energieberufe LIVE!" is organised in close co-operation with the trade fair "zukunftsenergien-nordwest", the 1st job and education fair for renewable energies and energy efficiency.
