Imagine you have to say what music Kim likes. You are given three pieces of information to help you: 1) Kim likes Cro or Helene Fischer. 2. if Kim is older than nine, then she doesn't like Helene Fischer. 3. Kim is older than nine. Can you answer the question?
To solve puzzles like this, you have to be able to think logically, i.e. draw the right conclusions from the information you are given. This is sometimes very easy - and then again so difficult that even professors talk illogically.
In the lecture, you will learn when a conclusion is logical and that some conclusions are always logical, no matter what they are about. We also look at when a sentence is true and when it is false - and we consider whether all sentences are actually true or false.
