In this exhibition, we will take you on a journey to faraway America. You will encounter works of art dedicated to the theme of the American dream.

We are showing works by various artists from 1945 to 2017. How do the artists depict their American dream? And what is the era of realism all about? Discover the American way of life in many exciting works of art and collect ideas to then bring your own big dream to life in the studio.

Bright colours, broad, bold brushstrokes, simple shapes and a painterly expressiveness - this is what the Expressionist era stands for, which is the focus of the collection at the Kunsthalle Emden. Whether blue foals, colourful clouds or a red cat - we will explore the museum and invent exciting stories about the abstract paintings of this era. In the studio, we will then try our hand at expressive painting. Using lots of bright colours, strong contrasts and different brushes, you will put the ideas you have collected from the collection into practice.
