Has this ever happened to you? An English song is playing on the radio and you hear: "Grandma fell in the loo". Of course it wasn't sung, but why do you hear it like that? Or you see the wheels of a moving car on the road turning backwards, even though the car is travelling forwards.
Our everyday lives are full of such illusions. We very often do not see and hear what is actually happening around us, but rather the things we expect. We also often don't do what we actually want to do, but make mistakes without realising it.
Scientists can learn a lot about humans from these mistakes. In this lecture, we will demonstrate some of these fallacies and explain what we can learn from them. We will do exciting experiments together.
