The focus project aims to introduce the ambivalence and contingency of social practice into the study of sustainability by applying a praxeological perspective, thereby emphasising the connection between the discourse on sustainability and responsibility. The project is therefore characterised by the oscillation between reflexive conceptualisation, genealogical investigation and empirical investigation.

- Reflective conceptualisation (Module 1: Tools for analysing sustainability),

- Genealogical investigation (Module 2: Genealogy of sustainability) and

- Empirical case studies (Module 3: Transformation scenarios)

form the systematically interchanged pillars of the project, which lead to the goal of a reflexive comparison of postulates and consequences of sustainability-oriented attribution of responsibility (Module 4: Reflected ways out).
