Concept
The UniChor is a general university choir. It is subject to the semester schedule and is part of the music subject's degree programmes as an ensemble exercise. The choir is open to all interested parties, students and non-students, without any prerequisites.
After the forced break due to Corona, the UniChoir will restart in the winter semester 21/22 under the direction of Silja Stegemeier.
The choir's programme is a colourful mixture of smaller works from different eras, different cultures and different genres. Variety is part of the concept, so hopefully everyone will find special treats or be able to explore new musical worlds. Basic vocal technique work is part of the choir rehearsals. The aim of this semester is to form a choir that enjoys making music together. Finally, it is possible to make music together again and experience community - singing and outside. Concerts are possible, but not yet planned.
All members of the University of Oldenburg and external participants are welcome to sing along. Participation is free of charge. A 3G certificate is currently still required. Knowledge of music is helpful, but not a prerequisite. We also welcome previous experience in choral singing, but it is also possible to experience the fun of singing together for the first time. An audition is not required for admission.
Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 6.15 to 7.50 pm in the assembly hall, building A11.
A warm welcome!
