Leena Karrasch ist Leiterin von COAST und Post Doktorandin am Lehrstuhl für Ökologische Ökonomie. An der Schnittstelle von Natur- und Sozialwissenschaften liegen ihre Forschungsinteressen in den Bereichen sozial-ökologische Systeme, Stakeholder-Engagement, Governance- und soziale Lernprozesse, Ökosystemleistungen und Klimaanpassung. Sie ist Expertin für inter- und transdisziplinäre partizipative Planungsprozesse für nachhaltiges Land- und Wassermanagement an der Nordseeküste. Die aktuellen Forschungsschwerpunkte befassen sich mit Grundwasserversalzung und innovativen Ansätzen zur Stärkung von Resilienz an der Nordseeküste.
Leena Karrasch beendete ihren Dr. rer. nat (Universität Oldenburg) 2016, M.Sc. Water and Coastal Management (Universität Oldenburg) 2012 und M.Sc. Environmental and Infrastructure Planning (Universität Groningen) 2011.
