„Cultures in Contact“: Öffentliche Vortragsreihe zu Fragen der Migration

Oldenburg. „Cultures in Contact“ nennt sich eine öffentliche Vortragsreihe an der Universität Oldenburg, die disziplinäre Ansätze und transdisziplinäre Perspektiven der Migrationsforschung vorstellt. Veranstalter sind Prof. Dr. Martin Butler, Institut für Anglistik / Amerikanistik, und Dr. Lydia Potts, Institut für materielle Kultur und –Koordinatorin des Erasmus Mundus Masterstudiengangs Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR).
In der Vorlesungsreihe präsentieren ForscherInnen aus Deutschland, Südafrika, Uganda, Großbritannien, die im Kontext von EMMIR lehren und forschen, die Ergebnisse ihrer Arbeit. Das Leitmotiv der Reihe „Cultures in Contact“ nimmt den Titel einer Globalgeschichte der Migration auf, die der Migrationshistoriker Prof. Dr. em. Dirk Hoerder 2011 veröffentlicht hat. Er ist der erste Gastwissenschaftler, der am 21. Oktober, referiert. Am Mittwoch, 16 Oktober, spricht Dr. Lydia Potts über Roma in Deutschland und den USA. Die ReferentInnen halten die Vorträge auf Englisch.

Alle Veranstaltungen finden, wenn nicht anders angegeben, auf dem Campus Haarentor, Raum A1 0-005, statt.
