abstract = {Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) concepts have emerged as a means for reviewing and ensuring the effectiveness of energy efficiency measures (EEMs) in smart buildings. Nevertheless, high technological and regulatory demands imposed by the Energy Efficiency Directive, Article 8 (EED 8), result in limited adaptation, which makes the transition of the MRV concept into a practically applied framework a challenging endeavor. A significant concern lies in ensuring data integrity, accuracy and transparency throughout the entire adaptation and implementation process of the MRV concept. This study addresses these challenges by developing and evaluating a structured MRV framework tailored to smart building environments. The MRV framework design was tested in a real-world use case in Berlin, demonstrating its applicability for measuring, reporting and verifying energy efficiency data from smart buildings. The results confirmed the applicability of the approach, while also revealing persistent barriers related to data sovereignty, security and interoperability. Ensuring trust, transparency and long-term data accessibility requires robust governance structures and alignment with legal and ethical standards. Future work will focus on scaling the MRV framework to additional sectors and refining mechanisms for secure data sharing and automated verification.},

abstract = {In recent years, the growing importance of data ownership has attracted significant attention, reflecting not only its pivotal role in the evolving data-driven environment but also the complexity of addressing it across diverse contexts. The necessity of developing effective data ownership concepts for data platforms is indisputable; nevertheless, the process is inherently complex and demands a comprehensive examination of the requirements surrounding this multifaceted issue. This paper puts forward a novel approach to the development of data ownership concepts, which draws on principles from requirements engineering (RE). The efficacy of this approach is evaluated through in-depth case-studies focusing on three distinct contexts: the development of a data ownership concept within the realm of smart meters, smart livestock farming, and data spaces for energy. Through the application of RE principles, this work strives to provide a structured and effective approach for addressing the nuanced challenges associated with data ownership in the process of developing data ownership concepts for data-driven platforms and applications.},

abstract = {Unlocking and managing flexibility is an important contribution to the integration of renewable energy and an efficient and resilient operation of the power system. In this paper, we discuss how the potential of a fleet of battery-electric transportation vehicles can be used to provide frequency containment reserve. To this end, we first examine the use case in detail and then present the system designed to meet this challenge. We give an overview of the tasks and individual sub-components, consisting of (a) an artificial neural network to predict the availability of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) day-ahead, (b) a heuristic approach to compute marketable flexibility, (c) a simulation to check the plausibility of flexibility schedules, (d) a multi-agent system to continuously monitor and control the AGVs and (e) the integration of fleet flexibility into a virtual power plant. We also present our approach to the economic analysis of this provision of a system-critical service in a logistical context characterised by high uncertainty and variability.}

The reasons for such patterns have organizational, technical and process oriented backgrounds. For instance, there is no structured way to deal with the analytical results on both sides simultaneously – organizational and technical. Usually, in case of analytics the ones doing analysis (e.g. data scientists) and the ones using results of analytics (e.g. decision makers) are different persons. As a result, such a structure leads to ambiguity and misunderstanding between the involved parties. In order to bridge the existing gap between data scientists and decision makers, we introduced the Data Product Profile which links both data science and data-driven decision processes.}

In the Era of Big Data, former and robust analytical concepts and utilities need to adapt themselves to the changed market circumstances. The main focus of this work is to address the acceleration of building process of a "data-centric" Business Intelligence (BI) solution besides preparing BI solutions for Big Data utilization. This research addresses the following goals: reducing the time spent during business intelligence solution's design phase; achieving flexibility of BI solution by adding new data sources; and preparing BI solution for utilizing Big Data concepts. This research proposes an extension of the existing Extract, Load and Transform (ELT) approach to the new one Extract, Load, Transform and Analyze (ELTA) supported by service-orientation concept. Additionally, the proposed model incorporates Service-Oriented Architecture concept as a mediator for the transformation phase. On one side, such incorporation brings flexibility to the BI solution and on the other side; it reduces the complexity of the whole system by moving some responsibilities to external authorities.},

abstract = {Abstract Significant advancement in mobile devices coupled with high speed networks have shifted personal computing towards pervasive environments. Mobile devices currently offer many value-added applications and services such as emailing, messaging, navigation, social networking, finance, and entertainment. Typically, such value-added applications have access to users’ personal information and are capable of gathering and transmitting trust sensitive information, hence posing security risks and/or privacy concerns. In this paper, we propose a context-based analytic hierarchy process (AHP) framework for eliciting context information and adapting this information with network access control measures for mobile devices. The framework enforces the execution of mobile applications inside security incubators to control the communication between mobile applications and mobile device resources. Mobile applications’ access requests are analyzed based on user's context information collected from the mobile device sensors and the application network access control configuration. We use the Facebook mobile application, as a test case, to evaluate our proposed framework. Evaluation results have demonstrated the efficacy of the framework in providing network access control measures based on real-time assessment of user's context. },

abstract = {The usage of the data generated by the various types of sensors is addressed to be one of the promising source of improvements and one of the core stones of the Industry 4.0 initiative of the German government. The domain of sensor data management continuously demonstrates it’s ability to improve currently existing processes in various directions. Despite theoretically applicability of the same approach of the sensor data management in the domains other that water, current work focuses on demonstrating preliminary results of the research done with focus on water management. The preliminary results demonstrated in the form of principal platform architecture. The main idea behind the paper is to show the principal architecture in order to open a future opportunity for building a prototypical implementation of the proposed architecture later on. The principal architecture has an big data phenomena principals like volume, velocity and variety by-design.},

abstract = {Increasing the duration of active life is one of the most important problems in modern gerontology in the world, including Kazakhstan. First, the solution of these problems is associated with using information and communication technologies (ICT). Gerontological RK portal, which has no analogues in countries of the former USSR, will include information on major aspects of the aging in RK. Portal will be a platform for exchange of experiences, publishing of research results, for getting generalized and personalized information. This paper describes the main elements of the portal and presents preliminary results of frequency occurrence analysis of cardiovascular diseases in elderly age and income level of the respondent on the basis of epidemiological screening, performed on the basis of data collected on our site.},
