Module 6: In learning stations on the structure of the atomic nucleus
The contents of this module
We now know that atoms are made up of a nucleus and a shell. In the stations of this building block, you can learn more about the atomic nucleus and its structure step by step.
Task 6.1
Firstly, work through all the information at the stations using the materials and tasks. Then work on the following tasks to summarise the content.
- Develop a mental model of an atom based on the new findings and draw it.
- Compare your model with what you know so far about the structure of atoms.
- List questions that you can answer with the new model.
- List questions that cannot be answered by either the old or the new model.
