O-Week

Hi there, freshers,

The start of the semester is just round the corner and we’d like to welcome you with a proper O-Woche (‘Orientation Week’) in Oldenburg and/or within your degree programme. Orientation Week always takes place one week before the start of the lecture period. This year, that falls in the week from 5–9 October 2026. We’ve planned a varied programme for you and are really looking forward to getting to know you all!
You’re allowed to bring your own alcohol. Please drink in moderation; you must not put others at risk. We reserve the right to exclude from our activities anyone who fails to follow the rules and instructions of the group leaders and thereby endangers others.

We look forward to meeting you! :)

Programme for university students

Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect during Orientation Week. More information will follow soon :)

University programme

From 1 October, the university will be offering its information materials in the form of videos, presentations and information pages via an external, password-protected platform. You should have received access data for this in your study folder.

Further information on the university's O-Week.

Programme from the AStA

The AStA also has a lot planned for the O-Week and the time afterwards: asta-oldenburg.de/o-woche/

It's definitely worth taking a look at the programme and if you're currently on the AStA website:

They do great stuff for us - check it out!

The AStA is the General Students' Committee, i.e. our representative body elected by the student parliament. The AStA officers represent us externally and make university policy. This includes legal and BAFöG counselling, agreements on the semester public transport pass, political education, culture and ecology on campus.
