Learning from experts
The practical component of the Integrated Media degree programme is not limited to seminars, but is constantly being expanded with offers outside of seminar times. Since 2024, the Producing Workshops series has been taking place, in which students are taught practical knowledge in the field of music production by established music producers and artists. The workshops take place in small groups in the recording studios of the Institute of Music. The close exchange with experts allows students to expand their music production skills, make contacts and try out new techniques.

"She is the Queen Bee of German hyperpop: in recent years, Berlin artist Mariybu has made a name for herself far beyond the queer scene as a visionary singer, producer and empowering role model. Sometimes strong and combative, sometimes sweet and playful, but always uncompromisingly herself - this is how the musician presents herself on stage. The fact that she always makes this available to other female and genderqueer talents (e.g. jolle, Angel Rider, Lil' Lil') perfectly summarises Mariybu's artistic DNA: It's about mutual empowerment in an industry that still doesn't allow enough space for FLINTA* people. lil.lili
Modules Synthesiser
Colourful tangled cables and countless buttons and knobs - paradise for Lili, aka lil.lili. She loves nothing more than tinkering with modular synthesisers and trying out new patches. Ever since she accidentally came into contact with this fascinating world, she has been totally in love. For the mother of three, making music and experimenting with her modular system is a liberating balance to everyday life and like a loud meditation. From downtempo to psybient to melodic techno - playful melodies, soft sounds and creaky basses - from 95 to 145 bpm: every live set from lil.lili is a unique journey! In addition to her own music, her goal is to introduce other FLINTAs to the world of synthesisers and to take away their fear of the supposedly "dreaded" technology.

Cato
Producing
Cato is a producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Musically influenced from an early age and growing up in Hamburg's hip-hop scene, he is the second half of rapper Ansu and has been largely responsible for the development of the music since the project began. Together with Levin Liam, he produced Levin's first album "vergiss mich nicht zu schnell" in 2022, defining a new sound for Germany between indie, rap and pop. In 2023 and 2024, he also produced poppier songs such as "Hallo", "Küss Mich" and "Mensch" by Ivo Martin, which now have over 22 million streams and will act as executive producer of Ivo's debut album, which will be released this autumn. Cato's production influences range from hip-hop, jazz and soul to pop and indie. Artists Cato has worked with so far include: Ansu, Levin Liam, $OHO BANI, Monk, Ivo Martin, Tom Hengst, Nate57, Lugatti & 9ine, Lotte, DXVE, Disastar, Paula Engels, Babyjoy.
