Anna has a date with Ben and Clara. She has baked chocolate biscuits. The three of them are now thinking about the fairest way to distribute the biscuits.
Of course, you might think, everyone gets the same! But is that really fair? After all, Anna has put a lot of work into the biscuits. Shouldn't she therefore get more? Or Ben? After all, he needs the biscuits the most because he hasn't had any lunch. Or would it be fairest to raffle off the biscuits? Then everyone would have the same chance of getting as many as possible.
Researchers from a wide range of disciplines, such as philosophers and economists, deal with such questions of distributive justice. In the lecture, you will find out what answers they have come up with. It will not only be about biscuits, but also about such important things as food, housing and medicines.
