Evaluation of materials on renewable energy in general studies
As part of the Lesa21.de general studies Lernwerkstatt, materials on renewable energy for primary and special schools are continually being developed. This is carried out in conjunction with the subject-specific placements for the Master’s degree programme. This school is the only one in the Oldenburg area to have formulated a comprehensive school programme on renewable energy. This programme was launched in conjunction with the installation of solar panels at the school, carried out by the company Projekt Ökovest. The General Studies working group is developing specific teaching modules for all year groups.
At the same time, this work on developing materials is integrated into a pilot scheme. As part of this, students are conducting empirical trials as part of their Master’s theses to assess the effectiveness of these materials for different pupils, in close co-operation with Dietrichsfeld Primary School. Research questions from both the school and the Projekt Ökovest project are also being incorporated into this work. The vision is to establish an integrated research network linking the school, a provider of renewable energy systems and the university. In future, the Lesa21.de Lernwerkstatt will also make these teaching materials available to other schools as they convert their energy supply to renewable energy sources.
