OnVico
Online-based video coaching for modelling the energy concept. An advanced training project with science teachers
The OnVico project is concerned with an innovative training concept for science teachers on the energy concept. The centre of the project is the development and evaluation of multimedia and web-based content that is offered to teachers on an online platform for self-regulated learning. Teachers will be supervised by "experts" during the training programme by means of video-based online coaching. The training will focus on modelling based on Feynman's building blocks (Feynman, 1963) in order to provide a technically correct and connectable knowledge of the energy concept. Dealing with Feynman's building blocks is promising, as teaching with and about models has successfully influenced pupils' learning success in the past.
As the planned training concept is new, it will be evaluated. The knowledge gained from this should help to make future training programmes as successful as possible.
