In the 2024/25 winter semester, we performed
- Ernst Sachse’s Trombone Concertino, featuring Felix Deeken as soloist
- Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1 (Op. 13)
conducted by Rida Murtada, as well as
- the Overture to Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi
conducted by Nina Aubke.
The concert took place on Thursday, 23 January 2025 at 7.30 pm in the university auditorium.

During the 2023/24 winter semester and the 2024 summer semester, we performed
- Robert Schumann’s Concerto in A minor for Cello and Orchestra (Op. 129), soloist: Christoph Rode
- Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 (Op. 73)
- the Overture to *Nabucco* by Giuseppe Verdi
conducted by Rida Murtada.
The concert took place on Friday 7 June 2024 at 8 pm in the university auditorium.

During the 2022/23 winter semester and the 2023 summer semester, we performed
- the winning piece from the 18th International CvO Composition Competition (Matthias Hutter: Visions in Light and Violet)
as well as
- Antonín Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances Nos. 6–8
- a romance for bassoon and orchestra by Edward Elgar, featuring the soloist Julius Heinze
- the solo aria ‘Blute nur, du liebes Herz’ from the St Matthew Passion, featuring the soloist Dorothea Ferrari
- Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 (Op. 67)
conducted by Rida Murtada.
The concert took place on Friday, June 2023 at 8 pm in the University Hall.

- Camille Saint-Saëns’ First Cello Concerto with soloist Christoph Rode
- and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, ‘From the New World’

Programme for the 2019/20 winter semester
During the 2019/20 winter semester, we performed *Lux Aeterna* by Morten Lauridsen together with the Bremen choir ensemble d’accord

under the direction of Rucsandra Popescu.
We also performed
- L. v. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral)
under the baton of Rida Murtada.
The concerts took place on Friday 24 January 2020 at 8 pm in the University Hall in Oldenburg and on 26 January 2020 at St Ansgarii in Bremen.

Summer Semester 2018 Programme
During the 2018 summer semester, we performed alongside the University Big Band
- the winning pieces from the 17th International CvO Composition Competition

Concert during the 2012/2013 winter semester
During the 2012/2013 winter semester, we performed Anton Bruckner’s so-called ‘Zero’ Symphony in D minor (WAB 100) and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Romances for Violin and Orchestra (Op. 40 & 50) with the soloist Jenny Abel.
The concert took place on 31 January 2013.
Concert during the summer semester of 2012
In the summer semester of 2012, we performed the music for the play *Peer Gynt*, which was staged by music and art students. The composition is by Harald Sæverud (1897–1992) and is regarded as the anti-Romantic counterpart to the well-known Grieg suites. Two pieces by Grieg (1843–1907) himself were also included.

Concert during the 2009/2010 winter semester
During the 2009/2010 winter semester, the University Orchestra, together with the Big Band, performed the three winning pieces from the Carl von Ossietzky Composition Competition: “The Other Disciple” (Nicola Corso), “Genesis” (Reinhold Glembotzki) and “…in Zweitracht” (Stefan Platte). The programme was complemented by two pieces by the Oldenburg-based vibraphonist and composer Florian Poser: “Concerto No. 3” (a tango) and “Scenes”, written especially for us.
The concert took place on Friday 29 January at 8 pm in the university auditorium. A repeat performance was held on Saturday 30 January at 7 pm at St Ansgarii Church in Hage.

Concert during the summer semester of 2004
To mark the 100th anniversary of Antonin Dvorak's death, his Mass in D major will be rehearsed - together with the University Choir - and performed in a concert on Friday, 18 June at 8 pm in St Ansgari's Church. In this concert, the orchestra will also perform the overture-fantaisie "Romeo and Juliet" by P. Tchaikovsky.
