31 October 2014, 4 p.m.
Haarentor Campus, Library Hall
A look back at the "left-wing founding history" of the University of Oldenburg - this is what four university lecturers want to do on Friday, 31 October, 4.00 pm, in the library hall. This event is an opportunity for some of the teaching staff from the first generation of the university and interested parties from later generations to enter into dialogue, explained the inviting professors Wolfgang Nitsch, Ulrich Ruschig, Ingo Scheller and Wolfgang Martin Stroh.
The title of the event "Oldenburg University born in a struggle?" refers to the diverse discussions that took place between 1972 and the 1980s - between left-wing groups and factions as well as between these groups and opponents of a left-wing orientation both inside and outside the university. The struggles for democratic reforms in studies and research will also be a topic.
