SMILE
Smart Environments as a context of motivating learning opportunities for girls for a growing proportion of female computer scientists by involving teachers and parents (SMILE)
The SMILE project has come to an end. The project results are available for download here: https: //github.com/projekt-smile
Motivation and goals of the project:
The proportion of women in computer science degree programmes and academic appointments is around one-fifth each. The aim of the project was to contribute to a sustainable increase in the proportion of women studying Computing Science and a reduction in drop-out rates in order to sustainably increase the number of female Computing Science graduates. The approach is based on building a positive image of Computing Science, especially among female students. By means of the highly topical and innovative subject of intelligent environments and a didactic concept tailored to this, access to Computing Science topics is to be created and continuously promoted by embedding Computing Science methods in technologies for people. The workshops are designed in such a way that they can be accessed at any age and with different levels of prior knowledge.
The materials for the workshops developed in the project are available under a Creative Commons licence.
