Dear Sportis,
The situation is just as tense for us as it is for you. The exam period is no longer just around the corner, but is in full swing, the semester is slowly coming to an end and the problems are getting bigger, not smaller, in many respects.

Here are two pieces of good news for you:
Firstly, due to the pandemic, you can have part of your semester public transport pass refunded (FOR A REASON!!!). Before you all go into ecstasy, we would like to ask you to read the proposal we have linked below carefully, as a reason with specific attachments must be submitted here.
Secondly, there will be a one-time suspension of long-term tuition fees for summer semester 2021 and an extension of the standard period of study. The suspension of long-term tuition fees applies to all students who became subject to long-term tuition fees in SoSe2020 or WiSe 2020/21 or who would become subject to long-term tuition fees in SoSe2021. The extension of the standard period of study by one semester applies to all students who were regularly enrolled in SoSe 2020, WiSe 2020/21 and SoSe 2021 (i.e. not on leave of absence).

Unfortunately, we have to disappoint all those who were hoping that the semester fee would be reduced this semester. As you know, the majority of it goes towards your semester public transport pass and the AStA. The money is well invested here, as the AStA is really trying hard to get the best out of this time for all of you and is committed to the students in every conversation. The rest goes to the university, which has made technical upgrades due to the pandemic, which also cost a lot of money. Therefore, a low semester contribution in the coming semesters seems very unlikely.

There is also news for anyone who is about to start an internship. There are talks with the DiZ and the state education authority, who are considering replacing school internships with compensation. Extracurricular internships should be possible with a hygiene concept. There will be more information on this next week. Now let's get down to
business - the AStA meeting and the Presidium meeting and thus the TPS seminars. As you already know, we have been in close contact with the AStA and the Institute since the beginning of the pandemic and especially since the start of the lockdown. We are following all processes, decisions and discussions and are demanding a precise timetable with solutions for all conceivable scenarios. The current plan is that after the lockdown (if possible), sports practice will resume from 15 February or 1 March under newly developed hygiene concepts and will be completed during the lecture-free period. In the examinations, the limited preparation time will be taken into account by the lecturers within the framework of the examination regulations.
Should the lockdown continue or sports practice not be possible for other reasons, the Institute is currently working again with all other responsible parties to find a solution in the form of alternative services that meet the minimum level of competences to be fulfilled.
Together with the AStA, we are of course working hard to ensure that these solutions are available and can be implemented in good time.
Once again, we appeal to you to use the complaints offices to continue to draw attention to the problem in our degree programme. The complaints offices of School IV and Division 3 are ideal for this. In addition, we as the Student council are of course always there for you.
