Intersectional perspectives on gender and emotion - series of lectures

In the 2024/25 winter semester, the Institute of Art and Visual Culture (JProf. Dr Friederike Nastold), the Q+ study programme at JGU Mainz and the Mainz Academy of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the University of Bremen and the University of Art and Design Linz, will be organising an international, interdisciplinary series of lectures for the first time. The series brings together contributions to gender studies that focus on feeling, affect and emotion.

The series of lectures, which focuses on gender (established since the 2021/22 winter semester), stems from a co-operation between the Q+ study programme at JGU Mainz and the Mainz Academy of Fine Arts. The aim is to provide an insight into the academic work of lecturers from various disciplines who engage with the category of gender. This coming winter, we intend to deepen the discussion and provide new academic impetus.
