Queer aesthetics and theories articulate ideas and fantasies of gender and sexuality - often quite bluntly and straightforwardly. Sometimes, however, there is also blunt speech or, even more so, variations and modulations of blunt and straightforward. What artistic strategies can be used to counter normalisation pressures and increasing pressure to be visible? With Out & Proud or Back to the Closet? With irony, parody, voyeurism, fetishism? Queer visibilities will be presented, designed and discussed theoretically and practically in lectures and workshops.
