Distinction
for exceptional final theses in the subject of Art at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture in Oldenburg
After a welcoming address by the Dean of Studies of School III, Prof. Dr Karen Ellwanger, the prizewinners were presented and honoured in the presence of students, parents and teaching staff with a laudatory speech by their supervising lecturer. Jette Friedrich was one of the award winners with her Master's thesis "On the development of an art space in schools", with which she completed her studies in Oldenburg.
Four other students from universities and art colleges in Lower Saxony, where the Master of Education in the subject of art can be studied, received the award for outstanding final theses on 7 December 2018. The other award winners graduated from the Braunschweig University of Art, the University of Hildesheim Foundation, Leuphana University Lüneburg and the University of Osnabrück.
The prize is awarded by the Fachverband für Kunstpädagogik (BDK) and the Landesfachgruppe Kunstpädagogik in Niedersachsen. Once a year, one graduate from each of the five university locations is honoured with the prize, which consists of prize money and a subscription to the specialist journal BDK Mitteilungen.
In 2018, the award ceremony took place for the first time at the University of Oldenburg. Dr Rahel Puffert, deputy director of the Institute of Art and Visual Culture, who currently represents the professorship of Art - Mediation - Education, was the host.
