Project outline
The centre of my dissertation project is the analysis of the phenomenon of an increasing implementation of mediation in the context of flight in Germany. Characterised by a double perspective, the work aims on the one hand at a theoretical sharpening of the subject of mediation itself, and on the other hand at the visualisation of social negotiation processes of migration-related affiliation relationships. Using further education as a unit of investigation, the border-crossing practices of these two perspectives are empirically explored in order to finally link them with theoretical controversies within so-called "intercultural mediation" and theories of critical migration research.
